Safety & Justice

Citizens can report incidents, access legal processes, and get safety information digitally — with 24/7 access for the moments when it matters most.

What we’re building

Epics & the forms that make them up

Each epic below groups the government forms and services this theme delivers.

Legal Aid & Court Services

As a citizen who needs legal aid or is following a court matter, I need to apply and track my case online, so that I'm not making unnecessary trips to court just to find out what's happening.

Forms & services
  • Legal aid application
  • Court case tracking service

Fire Safety & Compliance

As a business that needs a fire safety inspection or has an incident to report, I need to book and submit online, so that I can meet my fire safety obligations without travelling to the Fire Service in person.

Forms & services
  • Fire service inspection requests & Barbados Fire Service (BFS) fire safety inspections
  • Barbados Fire Service incident reports & station tour bookings

Fines & Enforcement

As a driver who has received a traffic fine, I need to pay it online, so that I'm not taking time off work to appear at the Magistrates Court for a transaction that takes seconds.

Forms & services
  • Traffic fines online payment (saves 11,000 Magistrates Court visits/year)

Policing & Public Safety

As a citizen who needs to report an incident, share information, or request police help, I need to do it online, so that I can engage with the police quickly and easily, including anonymously when I need to.

Forms & services
  • Online crime & incident reporting
  • Anonymous tip submission
  • Firearms licence applications & renewals
  • Protection order applications
  • Police clearance certificate requests

User needs this theme meets

The needs below come from the 2,054-citizen survey and are what this theme sets out to address.

X3

As a citizen who has started a government process online, I need to finish the entire process online – including payment, submission, and receiving the outcome – so that I don't have to take time off work to visit an office for the final step of something I've already done most of digitally.

X4

As a citizen who has emailed, called, or contacted a government service, I need to receive a response – even if it's just an acknowledgement – so that I know my message was received and I'm not left wondering whether anyone is going to help me.

X5

As a citizen who has submitted a request, application, or claim to any government service, I need to check the current status of that submission, so that I'm not left in the dark, forced to call or visit just to ask "where is it?"
